Good HD/Enclosure Combo???

Thread Starter
I am looking to buy external storage; just wondering whether others can point me in the right direction. At a minimum, I want:
--100 - 120 GB capacity
--BOTH USB 2.0 & firewire 400
I think I would primarily connect via 4-pin firewire; just wanting USB as well in case I ever I want to connect to someone else's machine

I'm guessing a HD & seperate enclosure is the right way to go. Can you provide specifics; i.e., make/model/vendor? Thanks so much!

EDIT: Disregard; I just noticed there are multiple threads today basically asking the same types of questions. Sorry for the clutter......

I'm using a spire gigapod with a seagate 200gb. It works well and it's quiet.

Since there are no 2.5" drives above 100gb you'd have to go for a desktop-size (3.5") drive if you wanted anymore. Personally, I don't mind the extra size in exchange for the space, but having to carry around yet another power supply is rather annoying. I use a ByteCC combo (USB2/Firewire400) 3.5" enclosure with a Samsung Spinpoint 160gb drive and it works like a beaut. Plug-and-play in Linux, and it's very quiet.
