I'm voting for the WSXGA+ because it seems a high enough resolution to look good, while still (hopefully) alowing text to be read. Im about to buy this one, I think. What do others think?

I said wsxga+. It looks good on my 3790. I would NOT want it any smaller though. 1680x1050 gets pretty small when my eyes are tired, but most of the time it is just perfect.

I went for wsxga, i think its just the right res of me, as I mainly type, surf and game on my laptop, but if you did some stuff that requires lots of open windows at once you might want to consider the wuxga. (wouldn't go for the wxga though, you can always make text and icons bigger, but without a new lcd purchase, you can't get higher res.)

wsxga+ just seems too high a resolution for such a small monitor. I had the same hesitancies with the wuxga on the 9880. I ordered a 9880 with the wsxga+ option. The objects on screen are still pretty small, but they are managable.

If you went for the wsxga+ on a 15.4" screen, then you could always drop down to a lower resolution, but you would sacrifice clarity.

i say wuxga, simply because i like having lots of screen real estate and i like the high resolution for gaming and movies.

i'd say wuxga and recommend it but wsxga is fine the way it is and does same work as wuxga ...

Any higher resolution than wsxga+ on a 15.4" monitor would be unusable for me. I'd like to have more screen real estate, but I prefer being able to see it. I've got the wsxga+ on my 3790, and it's the perfect balance for me.

remember you can always make the resolution lower than that on the screen but you cant make it higher....

True, but it doesn't look as good when you change it from its native resolution.
your right on that but its something that if you needed a lower resolution you could have it still.... whereas if you needed a higher resolution than the native one for something like intense graphics work then you wont be able to do it cause you cant go over the native resolution.

true. Good point.

I ordered my WUXGA 3880 (which should be here this Friday although it's status is still "In Process" ) because I need as much real estate as possible in a small notebook. I'm pretty nearsighted so it shouldn't matter
