Ordered Inspiron 9300

Hi,

I'm in the UK and ordered an Inspiron 9300 on 6th June:

1.86 P-M
17" WXGA+
1024mb RAM
256mb Geforce 6800go
60 gig 7200rpm

The estimated shipped date in the confirmation email I received was 15th June, but when I checked the online order status today it was saying 11th August - now its not saying anything at all.

It doesn't have a date by "Pre-Production as of".

Am I right to be worried that delivery will be a LOT later than the 15th of June, or is this jumping around normal?

I really need the machine by the end of June as I'm going to work in Singapore for a couple of months, I need this to get my regular gaming fix!

Any advice/comments are welcome!

You will probably get the computer before the estimated date. I got mine about a week early. I live in the states so I don't know how production works where you live. I read somewhere that computers sent to Europe are built in Ireland.

Its saying Estimated Delivery is 11/08/2005 on the Online status checker, thats whats got me worried.

Is 2 months a reasonable time to wait?

I'll be out of the country then so I'm seriously thinking about cancelling if thats possible.

Holy cow! That's more than two months, more like six months! I would definately give them a call to see whats going on.

2 months, different date format. dd/mm/yy instead of mm/dd/yy.....crazy americans....

Date formats: Sorry, yes I'm a "limey", we do dd/mm/yy for the date. So 11/8 is 11th August.

Just checked the order status, its weird - if I search by Customer & order number I get a pre-production date of 7/6, but if I search by IR Number and Email Address, I dont!

I think a phone call is in order.

Well, looks like I was flapping!

Yesterday afternoon, the order status went from pre-production, to production (i missed the update to testing), to packing, now I've had the orderwatch email saying its shipped!
