Is this an adapter problem, a battery problem, or a motherboard problem?

I've owned this laptop for about a year now, and about 3 days ago it encountered a problem. When I plug the adapter into the back of the laptop, the AC-IN LED flashes and then goes off completely(however, the battery charging light does not come on at all). If I hold it in the back and put some pressure on it, the AC-IN and the battery charging LED's will both stay on brightly. But if I relieve the pressure both lights will just go off. Very rarely the AC-IN light will remain on steady, but because the battery will not charge the laptop only stays on for 2 or 3 minutes, barely enough time for it to start up. The AC adapter is only three weeks old, but the motherboard for the PC has already been changed twice after the connector pin has snapped off. The battery has been with the computer since it was bought. Where does the problem lie?

seems to be in the notherboard connection to the adapter, being that it was whats changed before.

Dig out that reciept and send it back for a new motherboard to get replaced.

thanks.
this is getting to be really annoying, the motherboard has been changed 3 times now.
I'd much prefer a replacement laptop with my current hard drive in it than a new motherboard. this laptop has been nothing but problems. :/
When I phoned up the support centre today, they didn't even know that i'd renewed my warranty. They seem to believe it has just expired, but considering I upgraded it to a 3 year warranty 3 weeks ago, it pissed me off to no end ;/

Good luck, I would have recommended that you get out of this relationship but since you have a 3 year warranty, that don't make much economical sense.

I would get an external HD and backup my laptop religously (once a day atleast) just in case it fails unexpectedly as it seems to have now, you're nat least not caught off gaurd and can function off of a desktop at the library or something.

Good luck.

I dont know about 1 time a day, but put everything you do onto disks, thats what I would do...it takes like 35 seconds....
