Hibernation when closed?

I'm looking at the sentia for a computer at school next year, so it will be used mainly for school related shizz and maybe a game or two. I found alot of negative, as well as even more positive, reviews on the web.

one or two problems really seemed like ones that would really bug me;i read that when the flip top was closed on the sentia it automatically went into hibernate. I also read that the backlight on the screen doesnt come on every time after the computer is reopened. have any of you experienced these problems?

in the windows power options settings, you can choose to have your sentia do one of the following things when you close the lid:
do nothing
stand by
hibernate

i like to leave it on the "do nothing" as sometimes i just wanna flip the lid down wen someone comes in because its easier than minimizing all my conversation windows.
