ok you people are blind as hell look at my post before hand where in the f*ck do you see me saying "you can call dell and they will and a guy will tell you the radeon xt is coming" no if you were smart enough to read carefully you will CLEARLY note that i said A radeon 9600 not radeon 9600 XT hell i even capitalized the f*cking A just so no one would b*tch at me with qoutes and i meant HIGHER clock speeds as in HIGHER than Pro I did note state a SOLID clock number.

Read my previous post carefully before making such stupid comments

Actually what you said was

Quote:
The ad isnt fake I called Dell Sales and they confirmed A radeon 9600 for Nov release
Now I dont know about the rest of the people here but the ad is for the 9600XT and you are stating its not a fake after having called Dell sales. As I said I cant speak for everyone but that read like you are saying the 9600XT mentioned in the ad is not a fake either.

Sorry if there was any confusion. The question was never about a 9600 being released - nor the fact that there was going to be a 9600XT. The question was always the existence of a 9600XT mobile chip

The funniest thing about all this is, who cares what video card is in it, it's a Dell & that is reason enough not to buy it.

I have owned three Dell laptops, here is a picture of one of them next to my 8890:

After discovering Sager you could not give me another Dell laptop!!

one question

WTF does it matter. It is a computer that most likely you use for gaming and nothing more. I dont care if it is clocked at 15 ghz core spped or 150mhz. I will never notice a difference between 80 fps and 85 fps. Get a life and quit whining about not having a fast enough video processor in a laptop that you dont even own!

biggest group of complainers ive seen

Yeah, unfortunately, get used to it. People are NEVER happy, no matter how cool whatever it is they have currently. They always want more and are never satistifed. Not even after getting their new machine, they usually are asking for more.

I will never notice a difference between 80 fps and 85 fps. Get a life and quit whining about not having a fast enough video processor in a laptop that you dont even own!

"EXCELLENT point!! Thank you for that ryan!!"

"The funniest thing about all this is, who cares what video card is in it, it's a Dell & that is reason enough not to buy it."

Another excellent point

Actually, there would be a huge difference between a video card clocked at 1500mhz and one clocked at 150mhz. The difference wouldnt be 5 fps......

Who is whining about not having a fast enough video card? All I saw was that another company had a video card that Sager didnt have and wondered when and if Sager was going to use that card.
I wasnt complaining. its just really annoying to see people ramble on about a new card, when it is nothing more than Dell's naming scheeme.

Just a final item from me

http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTMz

Thats the review of the new 9600XT V the 9600Pro - essentially the exact same card with one at 400 and one at 500 the XT also has a thermal sensor in it. The benchies show that the XT performs better but thats to be expected. If yo overclocked the Pro to 500 I would expect to see the exact same results as the XT.

The XT is different in NAME and what ATI has set for its default clock speed. I garuntee you will pay less for a 9600pro which will run at XT speeds just as well and for half the price.

This is what ATI did with the 9500 and the 9700. ATI needed a low end card so they could reach the lowend market, so they took the defective 9700's, lowered the clock to make them work properly and sold them! Just so happens that many 9500s CAN run at 9700 speeds (like mine does), so I got a 9700 for 9500 price. It may be an older card, but it scores jut as good as the 9700 and even the 9600 in some spots.

Well, here ya go:
http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTMzLDg=

They overclocked the 9600XT from 500mhz core to 600mhz core.... so it CAN be done.......

You can always overclock a Pro from 400mhz to 500mhz, but hey, you can just overclock the XT from 500mhz to 600mhz.......

Just Add Extreme and you're "cool"

I think this was a joke some where, but can't place it right now.

But it seems like all you have to do is add "XT, or EXTREME" to the name of a product and stupid people will buy it , thinking it's better. .... Wow... You people will get hurt in the "real" world.

I've said all i have to say about "Dell's Radeon 9600XT"

But think, ever manufactuer names thier systems or parts something to sound "exclusive" and cool, and it's really just all the same junk with a differnet name..

DId you know, if we paint our Sagers and put some vinyl sticker on them, they will have a soul?! (Voodoo PC)

Paint, Stickers = Soul?

My SAGERs don't need no stinking paint or stickers to have a "soul".

They already have a SOUL simply because they are SAGERs.

Actually, maybe if I were to collect stickers from everywhere I take them (or they take me) that might make for interesting cover art except I'd run out of room pretty quickly.

Madcat

My post wasnt directed at you dude , the people who come on here and whine about new tech needlessly is whats irritating.

Also, so, what you guys are saying is that the 9600 pro CAN be overclocked (with powerstrip maybe?) to run at a higher clockspeed....safely?

Its cool bro.

Depending on many things (enviroment, temperature, etc), yes. Many people have OCed the the M10Ps to 400/275 or more...
Post back if/when Dell does have one, and as a shipping product.

ah

coo, so it could just be a marketing ploy?
Looking at the MINIMUM FPS between the Pro and the XT, the difference is only 1 frame most of the time, occasionally 2. The upgrade would not be noticable in the slightest. (unless of course you just get your jollies from having a new product)

FIne. LEts get technical. Would you notice the difference between 80 fps and 8000 fps? I doubt it. The human brain cannot process that quickly and therefore you will not see a difference. Yes, it would have better benchmarks, but it is not practical. Thats my point.

The human brain can process visually resolutions of 1200kx800k or something like that, also in certain situations it can process upto 300 fps. E.G. ever play a sport like baseball and you see the pitch coming, imedialty it time slows down and you feel like you have all the time in the world to hit it. Well time hasn't slown down your brain is just working overtime giving you.

So if you are a hardcore FPS player and you get really into it, ya you could tell a differnce in 120 or 250 fps
post #60 of 102
But is that difference important? No.
