I'm getting 576kb/sec from 3dgamers.com. I had to wait in line for 6 minutes.

Yeah, EA is notorious for sending out bad code.

Were you using the wireless connection or the LAN connection? I was playing via wireless and my connection would drop every 20-30 seconds and my ping would skyrocket. So, I uninstsalled wireless and reinstalled with the Dell driver instead of the newer Intel driver and it hasn't done it since. Gaming has been solid

Just thought I'd post in case it helps.

Huge disappointment... can't imagine a game can actually go Gold when still so buggy.

Running like an ass here with my 9300. Basically it's not a problem with the graphics... my go6800 should be good enough but just the enormous amounts of RAM that's needed to run this game is just ridiculous. For reasonably smooth performance I think at least 2 gigs of RAM is required.. otherwise half the time gameplay is just filled with frequent pauses....

I won't be getting this game until a patch or two is out to solve all those ridiculously obvious bugs...

hmm... work going for me so far.

No kidding.. I thought they had learned their lesson with BF:V but I guess they're still using the trained chimps as coders

I've been having disconnects every few minutes over wireless with the Intel 2200BG and a Netgear WGR614v4 router. The thing is, it doesn't just disconnect from the game -- when BF2 disconnects, my wireless connection goes down completely. I have to Disable/Enable or Repair the connection to bring it back.

It's so bad that it's basically unplayable over wireless. I had to dig out a long ethernet cable and play wired or I couldn't make it through a single game.

It seems like it must be something to do with the game network traffic, because I regularly stream video over the same wireless network and watch for hours without a single disconnect or stutter. I also don't notice this kind of lost connection during surfing of other network activity. I have the connection icon in my System Tray, so I'm sure I would notice if I was getting such frequent disconnects.

I'm using the Intel 8.1.1.0 drivers because the Dell drivers and newer Intel's did give me disconnects during normal usage. When I first got the XPS 2 I tested most of the recent drivers and none of the other gave me a consistent connection.

Of course, it might also just be a problem with my Netgear WGR614. I might have to shop for a new router to see if that solves the problem.

Once I use the wired connection, the game seems to play well at max res on high settings. I just wish it had proper widescreen options. I'm using the laptop2go 76.50 drivers and haven't noticed any major problems, but I'll take a closer look at the shadows next time I play.

just got done some single player, ran smoothly, i enjoyed it lots, it asks you to update the driver but it does not force you too.

The problem for me is that I get the connection problems in BF2 with the wireless and without. I've also tried two different routers (linksys and netgear) and those are not the problem because both gave me problems on the laptop but neither gave any problems on my desktop PC. It is a problem with BF 2 and some laptop component, I just can't figure out what right now.

Hey guys, I tried ot install the drivers that came with it, I been runnin the 76.50's with laptop2go's modded inf...

Anyways, when I tried to install it, it said it was lookin for nvcpl.exe (i think thats exactly wat it was), and it couldnt find it, I had to system restore just to get the 76.50's working again, any ideas on wat the prob is?

I used the inf from laptop2go for these new drivers, but no dice.

Btw it ran fine on my 9300 (1.6ghz)

if you are running the 76.50's with the modded inf file, do not update your video drivers, it plays fine on these drivers, your just going to cause issues wait for a current modified driver set for the notebook go

Boo - Not in my experience. I was running 76.5's - and had shadow problems like others have reported. Looked like C R A P. Now it looks fine - but just plays like C R A P. In any event I'll be playing DC for a while longer!

If you installed the demo to the default location, go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\mods\bf2\Movies

Add the .BAK extension to these files, or delete them (I always use .bak in case something goes wonky and I have to get them, well, back):

demo_demolegaltext.bik
demo_bf2legal.bik
demo_locknload.bik
EA.bik
demo_bf2release.bik
Nvidia_logo.bik
dice.bik

DO NOT DELETE OR RENAME ANY OF THE OTHER VIDEOS, THEY ARE USED IN THE MENU SYSTEM

Congrats, you just save 30 seconds of your life.

It runs like crap on my 9300. I have the Geforce 6800, the 1.6gHz cpu, and 512mb ram. I knew the system specs would be iffy, but when i can't play at 1024x768 with medium settings without the game pausing every 5 seconds it kinda gets me peeved. I'm using the 76.50 drivers. I figured since i could play HL2 with cranked out settings i could handle bf2...guess i was wrong. Hopefully they tune it up some right after release since i have it preordered. If i have to upgrade the ram and cpu however, i will
