After all the problems I had with my LCDs (I had 3 replacement),I never felt happy ,now I have the 17'' sony from the A417S ..
The colors are much better than before ,no dead pixels ,no leakage...
I paid £249.99 for it , I just called sony support, I told them that I have a sony A417S and I needed a screen cause I broke mine....

Realy quality stuff...

So, who actually makes the Sony LCD, does it fit perfectly, and does it draw more current than the original LCD?

Sony makes them, fits perfectly , does everything better than the original LCD.
You can notice the difference as soon as you turn it on.

Oh so this is an industry standard on LCD panels...hmmmm

Hello Circuit City Hello Sony laptop Hello Return policy The employees can't tell. I wouldn't have been able to when we sold em where I work.

j/k, I'm happy with my Samsung.

vasvas, can you post the full LCD model and product number that you bought from Sony? Do you have any pictures of your notebook with the new LCD in?

and can someone tell me if it would fit into an i9300?

Well I'm glad I'm satisfied with my LG screen...otherwise I might take advantage of the Bestbuy/Circuit City return policy. I think you are the first person to throw a Sony screen into an XPS 2.

They do make 17" Sony's with WUXGA and WSXGA so there should be lappys out there with 1920x1200 and 1680x1050. I know for a fact that they have WUXGA I have used a few before
post #16 of 130
Umm, ever since sony first came out with the 17" XBRITE screen, you could get WUXGA on it. My A190 had it ;p

There we go... have you got any pics with switched on? See how the resolution compares.

LG is really nice but still It'd be nice to know if we'd have the option to install one of these Sony XBrites from what I've heard it might be worth it?
