Did you take any pictures when you were installing it? I would like to know the part number on the back of the panel. Looks great!

I didn't take any pictures installing it, the only reference I have is the name of the screen serie given to me by the sony support guy.
name: sony vaio VGN-A Series VGN-A600P LCD Screen

Bummer. Can you tell me what PowerStrip says about the panel?

Will powerstrip give me the name of the LCD???
I'm downloading it right now...

It should give you the internal model number. The prefix could tell us who makes the panel (I don't think it's really Sony). SEC = Samsung. LP = LG/Philips. And I think SH = Sharp.

Powerstrip gives me a strange number A-1087-141-A

Thanks for that VasVas, hopeing the Sony Xbrite WUXGA is compatible...

Would be nice to see one of those on the iXPS2/i9300.

That looks like a Sony part number. I checked an ebay auction, and I believe Sharp makes the 17-inch WUXGA for Sony. Sharp LQ170M1LA04.

I'm thinking it'd cost more than 249.99 somehow... LOL

US$449 for the WUXGA on eBay.
not worth it imo
It's worth it if you can sell your old WUXGA for $300 or so.
