Well im looking for a pretty good carry around laptop that is still powerful and found a Compal DL70 pretty much maxed out on features w/ xp pro and '03 office for $1200 but no warranty.
The guy is a reseller of them so he buys the laptops top of the line to show as a sales tool then sells them when he's done with it. So this is pretty much a new computer that has been showed to people the last 1-2 months, No internet usage, personal files, etc.
The only problem is that it doesn't have a warranty, which is the only thing keeping me from driving over there right now and buying the machine. He said I can check out the computer as much as I want to make sure it works, but that all sales are final.
So I'm wondering, how well are these built? Is it a ok idea to buy this w/o a warranty or is there possibly a way of buying one from Compal that anyone knows of? Please let me know anything cuz i want to buy it soon if i think it is safe.
