Ok here's what I did and this was really retarded.
I used the software linked us to. This gave me the network controller under other devices with the yellow flag. I then updated the driver on the device in the Hardware devices/control Panel program and pointed it towards the .inf file that came on the floppy that shipped with the new 5680 Sager. The device now reports at working perfectly
So why didn't I use the add new hardware wizard and just point it at the .inf file on the floppy to start with? Well I did but the list came up empty. That’s right no devices/drivers were in the list! Did anyone ever test this? To make matters worse Intersil sold the wireless line to GlobespanVirata
who has the drivers under their licensee server, do you see the button? Oh but guess what you need a password you poor sap. Got to protect those valuable drivers
I have a call into Sager but not sure when they will call back. A real bummer when you first get your computer. Otherwise all went well and this seems like a sweet machine.
And even though I have no bad pixels I will keep helping in whatever way I can to have the OEMs change their screw the consumer policy.
I'm tired so if you have any questions let me know, I'll check back tomorrow.
