I assume you are talking about the XPS2. Don't get the upgraded ram from Dell. Get the minimum and buy elsewhere online.

Should you - If they look the same they must be the same right? Seriously - check out the search function as this topic has been run into the ground.

pm 770
512mb ram
60gb 7200rpm
8x dvd-rw

I have not priced an XPS2, but I can tell you the price is better than I paid for a 9300 loaded except for memory. I upgraded that. I bought a warranty because my previous laptop had a warrany. This made it easier to sell.

Why the pm 770-dont waste your money

Edit: I guess if it was for $2100 then its a good deal

Adding memory will not void your warranty. Dell gives instructions on how to do it. If you send it in for warranty repair, remove the upgraded memory. Only memory purchased from Dell is covered under the warranty.

hhmm... should i jus get the 1gb of ram??
NO
get as little as possible, and buy the transcend ram from newegg
post #14 of 17
Buy your memory elsewhere it will come with its own warranty. Memory is not a component that is prone to failure. Test the memory with MemTest or something else. If you have memory problems, they will show quickly.
