ok, you arrogant ****s, if you're so correct, then why am I using a Hi-Defintion cable, (RED GREEN AND BLUE) To run Video, AND Sound To my TV? It's the same type of damn cable it just matters what's running through it, in this case it's Video and Sound which has worked just fine in the past. lets pretend I'm wrong for a second which I know I am not, Someone needs to inform people that they have to spend an extra 60 bucks to setup their xbox on their Sagers, and that the review is false in saying it hooks up just fine.

I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

Well what can I say, I needed that little bit of extra storage that as a family we could all use. After searching around I narrowed it down to three suppliers, not the cheapest, but all well...

I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

I am pretty sure we were fairly clear:
Quote:
| Using the TV tuner we hooked up the Xbox to see how well it performed. We tried both the coax input through AverMedia and the S-Video input hookups Xbox offers. The coax input ran well but was grainy, the S-Video ran well and looked perfect. |
And also as a side note for the RBG cables, unless you have a propriatary set up you should also have an audio cable(Red/White). I have a detailed pictured from an instruction manual to further my point(see attachment). Furthermore the connector on the laptop is S-video.... which does not have sound.

My quote here
Unless you read into it, it is simply refering to an S-Video input hookup that XBOX offers. It being offered standard or as an accessory/adapter is none of our doing and probably subject to change by Microsoft. It did not come standard with any of the Xbox's I have here and I have no idea if that's how it is in every case. I had no desire to pretend otherwise and if I had I would not have made this post in the 9860 review discussion on page 5:

So, by "offers" as far as I was concerned I was meaning that they offer it for sale. If anyone was confused by if "offers" was offers standard or offers as an accessory, they could have easily looked it up on xbox.com or asked. From what I can tell they offer it in every store that carries the XBOX/XBOX accessories right next to the XBOX itself on the shelf.
No, the review is not false at all and it does hook up just fine. You simply need the S-Video hookup XBOX (or parent company Microsoft) "offers" as stated. That is, from my experience during the review

OK to clarify, you are using component (RGB) cables to connect it, you confused us by stating the colors of the cables you are using. USUALLY the cables you are using are for a HiDef connection, they are NORMALLY used for video only. As they are mainly just RCA connections with wire between them you can use them in place of the NORMAL Yellow, Red, White connection. (although whoever sold you them for that purpose ripped you off bigtime). Technically they are not the same, because of the +/- plarity with the Yellow/Red/White setup, but if you are not running very high quality speakers, running them out of phase won't matter all that much. Hope that clarifies all that is going on for everyone.

No, what I said was that NORMALLY the red/blue/green cable is used for a connection called component video, the component video connection is only video. What you are confusing is the different types of connectors. There are 3 different kinds being discussed here. I will describe them starting with the lowest quality one. Composite video, it is 1 RCA connection, usually colored yellow that only puts out video. Usually with that connection there are red and white cables that is used for sound, they are also RCA connections. Then next is S-video, it is a DIN type connection (similar to your power cord that plugs into your laptop). It only produces video as well, not sound. Finally there is Component video, usually colored Red/Blue/Green. That connection is only video as well, however since they are RCA type connections you CAN use them in the same way you would normally use the composite video cables (The normally yellow one) What you are doing is using what is normally used as an only video connection as a video/sound connection. Here lies the confusion with everyone. So to answer your last question, as S-video is a video only connection, if you only connect S-video (which equals 1 DIN type plug) you will not get sound. Hope that helps!
