Considering bout 9300

hey guys. So ive been looking for a notebook for the past few months now. I was firstly considering bout the asus Z71V, but then didnt really like the looks. Then moved on to the acer tm8103 bcos of the 128mb X700, so that i can play games on it. But now ive moved onto the 9300. Its got a better graphics card, the 256 6800 Go and its got a 17" screen. So, do u guys think this is the right choice?? what would u say is better on the TM8103 compare to the 9300??

so far, ive configured this system on dell uk,
750 1.86Ghz
XP Pro
17" WUXGA (no idea if this is gud or not)
512mb (2x256)
256mb 6800 Go
80gb 7200rpm
8xDVD+/-RW
2915 802.11 a/b/g
dell wireless 2350 bluetooth2.0 module
cost = £1316.

Few questions about this. Are there any coupons for dell in uk?? cos all the ones on this site are in dollars so im guessing theyre just for the US. I was gonna get 1gb of ram, but it cost an extra £160, would it be cheaper to get elsewhere myself?? isit easy to fit or does it need professional fitting?? the 256mb 6800 go is the best graphics card now rite, second to the 6800 ultra that is?? does the dvd drive write dual layers??

the main question is, ive only chosen the 1 year european collect and return service, as this was £200 cheaper than the basic 3yrs package. But what does this actually include?? Im buying it in uk, but im going to Hong kong in august so even if i get the basic 3yrs service, it would be useless if im in a different country rite??

also, whats difference between i9300 and 9300??

Coupons are not available in the UK or any European country, but they usually have small discounts, for example free shipping etc. It's best to get your ram elsewhere since it will be much cheaper, u can get a 1 gig stick for about 120 dollars, and i have seen them here for about 120 euros, no idea how much that is in pounds. Installing ram isn't that hard but if you're not completely sure and are afraid to f00k p00p up, i suggest you go to some computer store nearby or something, I'm sure they are willing to do it for you. Yes geforce 6800go is best mobile graphics chip available at the moment, second to the ultra. But the Geforce 6800go can be slightly overclocked in order to get slightly higher performance, it still won't match up with the ultra though. Not a clue about the dvd writer.

About the warranty, do realize that it is a sensitive piece of equipment and replacing parts while having to pay for it yourself can be expensive. maybe even more expensive than what you would have to pay for the 3 years warranty. But i don't know how that wud work if you're going to Hong Kong.

i9000 stands for Inspiron 9300, same thing as 9300.

(not bad for somebody that doesn't own a 9300 yet hehe I have answered your questions with the knowledge i gained by reading these forums in the past few months)

thanx alot rapartist. great help. and conssistant too, cheers m8. yeh, ive asked them about the basic 3 yr warrenty and they say that they have a dell support in hong kong too so it would be ideal for me to get it. definately think this is for me. its actually quite cheap for what its got right?? the only other lappy thats im possible considering is the acer 8104. but i cant see nething better on the 8104 than the 9300

It is a great machine, and if there is something you don't like on it you can still return it within 21 days after you received it, and get your money back.

Im sorry, I forgot you're in the uk, the 21 days return policy is a standard in the USA, I'm not sure how that stuff works in the UK, but i am pretty sure you must have certain rights about returning your product (if you order it online, there must be a "non-satisfied policy"), give dell a call or search their website before you actually purchase it.
