Started reading the article..... My "Power Options Properties" box is quite different from the one they show - mine has no facility for disabling SpeedStep........

I can switch the voltage from .988 Volts (@800 mhz) to 1.356 Volts (@2.13 Ghz) or let it dynamically fluctuate (which is the default) with CHC.

or I can enable custom dynamic switching....

Multiplier-----------------------Frequency
6...........................................800 mhz
8..........................................1060 mhz
9..........................................1200 mhz
10........................................1330 mhz
11........................................1460 mhz
12........................................1600 mhz
14........................................1860 mhz
16........................................2130 mhz

The article is interesting though......

The best way to power optimize a P4 lappy is to dim the screen all the way.

I think the undervolting could help you to reduce these numbers.
