I've had no problems at all on my 15.4 WUXGA (Dell M60). If the fonts are too small, bump em up with the control panel and/or preferences, it's that simple. And, with the Dell screen, the text is still crisp and good for reading.

What is one of the primary reasons that new hardware comes out? GAMES! It's nonsense to say that the needs of the gaming community are being ignored. We do not make up a small demographic; the gaming industry is a multi-
billion dollar industry and games are a major reason that new home pcs are sold each year (I absolutely
must play Half-Life 2 with ALL the features on insane levels).
Personally, I see widescreen laptops becoming the norm within the next year. Apple's been selling them for years now, and PCs are introducing new WS lappies almost..every month? Each major company's brand spankin new laptop is a widescreen! As far as high resolutions, it's the same as the flat-screen/crt monitor market -- who the heck sets their crt to UXGA? hardly anybody. Who needs insane res. on their laptop? hardly anybody.
I bet you money that high res 17" lappies will be out by January. Double bet you even: Dell is making the M70 which is widescreen and will be insane res just like the current M60. Apple will be introducing G5 powerbooks by Q2-Q3 next year probably, and the 17" will most definitely be a higher res.
