My Screen/Video is F#$%d

I got my 9880 on the 2nd of June. I will not contest with this BS anymore.

1) Every game other than a Steam/HL game has partially lit pixels all around the screen.

2) Every time windows loads, it reverts to 8bit color without promt or notice.

3) I think it's the refresh rate though I'm not sure. The screen saver, some games, and other things like flash videos will just start literally flashing and causing unwanted appearances such as lines across the sceen, or huge boxes from top to bottom.

4) The tv tuner does NOT WORK AT ALL.

5) Everything is choppy, nothing runs smooth no matter what it is, I expected more.

If these things can't be fixed I'm sending this thing back to where it came from and getting something completely different. My experience with this thing has been nothing but bad feelings since day 1.

I don'thave your order ID in front of me to look you up, but did you order w/ or without an OS, and what video drivers are you useing?

I ordered with Windows Home, and I'm using the drivers sent to me with the 9880. Although I did install directx 9.0c because I wasn't sure if it was installed or not. But it came from the microsoft website.

Looks like a powerful machine. I wonder if they check it before it ships as in doing a burn-in. Does it also get hot ? And is the heat bearable ?

I owuld recommend reloading your divers, either the latest from Sager, laptopvideo2go.com, or the latest forceware drivers. If you are still haveing an issue I can walk you through a couple of test to see if we might need you to re-seat your heat sink.

Did you receive a remote and software? Sager sent out alot of their last round of notebooks with the tuner since it had been out of stock, if this is the case I will help you install it when it gets there... If not again I would look to drivers 1st.

Once again drivers.

It sounds like your machine may have had the OS imaged poorly, I would recommend contacting support and having them walk you through these issues. You also have the option to follow Sager's DOA policy and have them cross ship you a new unit.

You will need to use a modded INF with the forceware drivers, you can either ninja that out of your drivers from sager or get the 30.71 *.inf from laptopvideo2go.com.

A lot of trouble after spening big bucks.

Sounds like a lot of work to do after spending megabucks. And this only in the first couple of weeks. This plus the heat issues. Not worth it.

I don't see why I should have to pay shipping back to you for your mistake, if it turns out that you (PCTORQUE) didn't install/construct the system properly, i.e. a loose heatsink. I think I should be reimbursed for shipping.

Next time you post a response like this to one of my posts, I'll get a mod. If you can't post a coherent helpful response to a thread, then stfu.
