You can mod a config file to run at your desired resolution.

Read through that guide. http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html

Actually, take a look at your BF2 shortcut on your desktop. Get properties and change the x and y resolutions in the target. ;-)

Wow, I'm running at 1024x768 with no AA and everything set to low... still get occasional hiccups while flying. Playble but very annoying. What do you guys have your sound set to? I'm running "hardware" and low, but started to wonder if my audigy pcmia is causing these hiccups.

Im running the following:

1024x768
High everything except medium lighting
High Sound quality
6xAA
30-60FPS depending on what is going on. No hiccups unless i change lighting to High.

System:
XPS
3.4 Prescott @ 3.65ghz
1gb ddr3200
Mobility 9800 modded to Mobility x800 440/430
60gb 7200rpm
Audigy 2 ZS Pcmcia

I'm running the following

9100
3.2 Prescott
1gb ddr3200
Mobility 9800
60gb 7200rpm
Audigy 2 ZS Pcmia

And like I said, I run it at 1024x768 with everyone turned down. Anyone else with my setup able to run it on high? I couldn't even imagine running it with AA on the way it handled when I first played at the default settings. Looks like I have some serious troubleshooting to do.

I've got the same setup with out the card only 512mb or ram. I run it at the same res but everything on high except textures on medium I think and lighting on low. If I wanted AA I'd have to seriously lower the settings. What drivers are you using Phos?

If your running all that on low with thar rig then something is really wrong. It's been since February since I've last done a format (aka my computer is running kinda slow...lots of processes-50 to be exact). I have 1 gig of ram and the mobility 9700 and I get 30 FPS with no AA and everything on High/Medium. If I turn AA to 2x then I can run all on medium no sweat.

Quick question, do you get studdering with your audio if you do hardware sound? I hear that everyone with a creative soundcard is having issues (Creative Audigy 2 NX USB2.0 here).

EDIT: After reading one of your previous posts, try turning your sound to software and High, but keep EAX enabled. I hear that most people with a creative soundcard are having problems (straight from EA). Are you using an updated Audigy driver?

Running the Omega 2.5.97a drivers. I've always thought something was quirky with my audigy, I am running the latest drivers off creatives sight but I'll try the software/high setting and see what happens.

What I'm currently running at
1024x768@60Hz
Currently / Was
Terrain High / Medium
Effects Medium / Medium
Geometry Medium / Medium
Texture High / Medium
Lighting Medium / Medium
Dynamic Shadow off / off
Dynamic Light Off / Off
Anti-Aliasing Off / Off
View Distance 100%

Sound: Currently set to software and high with EAX enabled. I was running hardware low with EAX disabled.

How I was running it, it was more then playable, only occasional hiccups here and there, mostly while flying a jet (which might have been server side lag). The current settings I just tested was playable, but the occasional "hiccups" were more present. Move my mouse too quick and it skips if there is a lot of action on screen. This is the first game that made me feel like my 9100 was underpowered. Everything else I threw at it ran flawless. I guess the next thing I'll try is the newest omega drivers.

And for anyone that suggest it, no I'm not riddled with spyware or viruss. I'm completely clean so I know it's not that. Has to be a driver /setting issue.

Thought I should mention too, the core and memory setting on the 9800 is what I believe to be the default, 351 core and 297 memory. I'm really not into overclocking.

I run the game...@ 1024 with everything cranked and I dont have problems. In fact I ran it @ 1600 in medium settings and besides occasional jerkiness it was fine to play on my machine...no oclock.

I'm running (or would be running) everything high (textures and lighting medium) and 6xAA except my 512MB ram is seriously bottlenecking my system. Until I get more ram I run everything on high with without any AA with a non-OCed 12 pipe 9800.
