12 pipe mobility 9800 - Page 9

Bdork do you know if you have a core similar to that of raelcun or Anticitzen? It seems like the type of core plays a role in the success of the mod.

I’m a skeptic, true. A consciencence objector .
Everyone who claim success are raelcun, Bdork and Anticitizen 2. Don't you agree that you and 1/2 bent are getting lower score then these guys? I hope that Bdork's pictures will inspire more people to gather some statistics.

You've aborted CPU tests. We've desided that 3DMark test should not be interupted - http://www.notebookforums.com/showpo...9&postcount=35
Just in case, what was your quality settings? Anyway, congratulations in order.

Excellent work! I'm glad others are finally getting the mod to work

I'm getting 12 active pipelines reported by ati tray tools as well, can other people check too?

Same here, 12 pipes reported by ATI Tray Tools.
That was a nice find mekboy. Someone that has not done the mod should use ATI Tray Tools to see if it says 8 pipes for them.

It showed 8 pipes prior to the mod for me.

I'm going to reply tiger woods @ 1600x1200 very soon with this new found power.
so are these the new 9800 chips that are working or the older models?
raelcun's chip was made at 35th week of 2004
Bdork's chip was made at 34th week of 2004
Anticitizen's chip was made at 27th week of 2004

I cannot find any chip info of these who wasn't lucky to compare dates.
I tried two times doing the mod, but it still does not work. Here's my chip info

CORE:
216PECGA12F
6F 5630.1
0446AA
TAIWAN
RAM:
SAMSUNG 434
K4055323QF-GC3

Can you guyz explain how you did the mod? Maybe I am not doing it right or something. I applied the paint, then waited for 40 minutes, then put the heatsink back on and turned on my computer.
KAROLOYDI the biggest difference I see between your chip and Bdork's is that your's reads A446AA while Bdork's says A434AA ( I assume this is where VRT got Bdork's chip's manufacturing date from). So it seems like yours is a younger chip. Maybe the newer chips are locked some other way.

Maybe this doesn't work on newer cores?

I think it's the opposite. Older chips can unlock the pipes, newer can't. Mine is a446aa, meaning 4=2004, 46=46th week. Bdork's is a434aa, meaning 4=2004 34=34th week. Just to clarify that, so that people won't go buying new cards hoping they can unlock the pipes on them.
