So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...

congrats informat .... 16p next after a bios crack and with a 16p card those xps2 geforce ultra guys will have to bite there lips in agony.
HAHAHAHAHA yeah right buddy.
My X800XT PE with a 3.2 intel 478 got lower FPS at 1280x1024 then what my XPS 2 gets at 1920x1200. Sure it scored almost 6K in 3DMark05 but it was CPU limited like no other.
I connected all my dots and am on it as of now with no problems but still 8 pipes. Both sets of dots connect to the same trace so really if there was no laser cut they would be all connected anyway and thats what i did. theres something missing and i wish we could figure this out. Im happy with the mr9800.It plays anything well but now that i know there could possible be more i want it lol.
BTW Don't trust that totally, according to ATi Tray tools you have GDDR3 memory, you don't have that memory. Sorry.
How come no one is posting a before and after of that pic shown above.
Before the hardmod, how many pipes does it read?
After the hardmod, how many pipes does it read?
it said i had 8 pipes before the hardmod, i guarantee it, infact when i removed the mod, it went back to 8 pipes, when i reapplied it, it went back to 12... and i "definitely" notice an increase in fps in all my games....
If you guys with the earlier cards are getting 12 pipes when connecting, why don't you make a copy of your stock bios and host it so the people with newer cards can have the older bios that accept the hardmod...

Just a though.
(it's the older cards that accept the mod right?)
You can download the stock bios from the Dell website.
They use the same bios so that wouldn't work, and like informant said, ATI Tray Tools definatley reads 8 pipes before the mod and 12 pipes after. And if that's not enough, the performance increase in 3dmark and in games is most definatley noticable.
so i guess , the unlocking has finally been achieved (at leat for the first series chips). I really think we should thank Whackamac. He has gone through lots of trouble and work to unlock those pipes. Even though his answer was right infront of us , we never knew of it because the people who did the hard mods always had a new chip series. Whackamac u shall stay remembered.
This is my first time as a user in the forum, but I've been always reading most of the posts.
I did the hardmod on my MR9800 and it works great.
Thank you very much to the people who shared the information.
These are my pictures before/after the hard mod.

Are there any notiable differences in the chips between the chips that worked and chips that didn't work? I mean they have the same bios so this has to be a hardware issue.
1/2 bent, I believe the newer cards are with bad pipes sorry . I will be modding mine soon, but tonight I had to put together a habachi grill (tasted great thought, mmm ) I will do it after fireworks tomorrow. Btw shoman24v is the man who pointed out the laser cuts in my previous open mr9800 pipes forum.
