Hey guys I was going to buy a gatweay m680xl but my gateway m505x plays bf2 demo just fine... In low settings (medium textures, terrain)

Should i buy more ram for better performance? At fry's they are selling 1gb kingston ram for 99 bucks after rebate. Does the gatewa my 505x accept a 1gb pc 2100 ram? Or should i buy the 1gb pc 2700 (124 after rebate) let me know which ones worked well for u guys thanks

is the stock ram pc 2100 or 2700? so our old ram is compatible with the pc2700? Is kingmax better or kingston? thanks

the stock ram is PC2700 from Hyundai/Hynix, the reason I purchased KingMax is because of 150 + good users reviews

Well I am playing a great game just out "Boiling Point" with my M505X with 512 megs and I think i will need to go to 1 Gig soon too. It runs the game fine but needs to page in from time to time as I move around the endless enviorment of 625 square KMs.

Can I just add 1 gig and have 1.25 gigs or do I need to add 2 512 meg cards ??

Thanks

Daley

You can just add 1 GB stick for a total of 1.25GB of RAM PC2700. or buy 2 x 1GB stick for a total of 2GB of RAM

I have 1.25GB of ram in my m6807 (Radeon 9600 64mb). Before my Video Card overheated and toasted itself I was running at Medium everything, 100% draw distance and all the lighting turned off. Ran great, just make sure you've got the bottom of your laptop cooled so you don't toast your video card like I did. (I wasn't OC'n btw).
