again if you want to utilise your ram you should think about disabling paging file if you haven't done so already. that will force all programs to be run off the ram instead of your harddrive which will be much faster, esp if you have a 4.2k or 5.4k rpm hdd

and how do you do that? and doing that wont do anything to the laptop right?

no it won't. to do this, right click on the My Computer icon, go to:
Properties, the Advanced tab, the Settings button under the Performance heading, the Advanced tab, the Change button under the Virtual memory heading, check the No paging file radio box and click set. You might need to reboot I don't know.
No this does nothing to the laptop its a windows software setting.

There is no performance heading under the advanced tab.

Its cool, I figured it out about an hour ago, and noticed a little increase in performance!!

yeah there is... its the first box. its Performance then User Profiles then Startup and Recovery...
but if it helped then that's awesome.
