Hey, I didn't mean to start a war with the WXGA owners!
First off, I said that "The WXGA screen will not cut it for me
." If you have a WXGA screen, and you're happy with it... awesome. You SHOULD be happy with something that costs between $1,000 and $3,000. I personally (me, myself) am *not* happy with the quality of this screen.
Secondly, I actually PREFER a 1280x800 resolution (WXGA) on a 15.4" screen. It's the perfect text size for me. I simply wish the quality was a little better, so I'm not forced to go up to a higher resolution. The fact that it only costs "X" amount for the higher resolution screen shouldn't factor into this at all. The screen "QUALITY" should be the same across the board. They should ALL be UltraSharp, and they should ALL have decent viewing angles. The ONLY difference should be the difference in resolution. NOT in quality. Period. And THAT is my bottom line point.
Other manufacturers seem to be able to come up with a better looking / better quality WXGA screen... so why can't Dell?
Okay, I'm done venting.
