Mine is on it's way now. Here's a thread that might be able to help you a bit.

This is what I did to relax about the order I placed. You have the advantage of not having placed an order yet.

There are many of us - once your thread is seen, I'm sure you'll hear from a bunch. My 7700 is great - it (whoa earthquake just hit - lost my train of thought) blazing fast and has never given me any problems (except waiting for it during the phase game). Don't get discouraged - it really is a HOT machine!

happy

i can't say i haven't had problems, but the machine itself rocks

spaced - where are you? i didn't feel quake in bay area

Yep, quite satisfied! Got mine in early May and haven't had anything resembling a problem. No dead pixels, no case scratches, no bsod's, and everything works like a champ. Hell, I don't even use my DIY desktop anymore. One thing that I will complain about (even though I expected it), is the phase game really sucks. Good thing that the weather cooperated and I was able to play golf every other day.

I'm in Irvine - there was a 5.3 in Yucaipa in Riverside. Just a couple of jolts. Those are easier to take than those rolling quakes that go on forever. Glad you didn't feel it - if you did, I'd probably be in the Pacific along with the rest of LA and OC!

Rhythm - were you there when the Lomita quake hit?

My freaking laptop rocks, though I wouldn't give my right nut to go through the phase game again...but the system is blazing fast, and does everything and anything I ask it to, sometimes it will open up some crisco and put on a rubber glove for me...its fantastic.

doh, i'm about to head to rancho mirage. wasn't around for lomita.

a lot of people complain about heat and weight. the 7700 does gen a lot of heat, and it is heavy. if you want a true "laptop" you should really think about those issues or you may become another one of those gripers.

Matt, there's lots of great laptops out there. What do you plan to use it for?

I LOVE MY 7700 it is AMAZING AND OH THE STARES I GET WHEN I WHIP IT OUT SOMEWHERE, dont be taken off by the fraudulent idea that noone is happy with the 7700.

im pretty damn happy about my system except for the random keyboard failures...

My A51-7700 is great - zero defects in the LCD, and humming along with a 3.8GHz P4 and 2 Gigs of RAM. Recently equipped with one of the 10 TV Tuners I bought from Ramrod, and now the machine is my perfect dream machine.

Take care of the machine, and the machine will take care of you.

Super Happy

I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!! It's perfect (except for the Ultra, I already got my rig when they released the Ultra! )!! Got it for two months now and not a single glitch.

I have had my machine now for about 2 weeks and I am happy with it. One thing to keep in mind is that for every single unhappy person there is at least 300 happy and satisfied customers. Its that we dont really talk about things that are Allright and Proper... because we only talk of things that bug us and piss us off.

Anyway, as I said, I had my machine for couple of weeks now - I cant say what will happen tomorow but I am very happy with it now.

cheers.

Had my 7700 for 3 months now. No dead pixels, no scratches, well-built, sturdy sleek desktop replacement.
The LCD is sexy, this boy is big and he runs warm. Problems? the CPU fan noise was a small issue easily resolve with a certain utility.
This thing handles everything thrown at it. Take it out in public and you get stares and comments aplenty.
I haven't posted pics/reviews becasue I've been so busy using big daddy that I haven't had the time.
In my experiences with the 7700, I must say that I'm happily using the 7700 daily with no complaints.

Had mine about three months and no problems. It is heavy, but I have only had to lug it around three or four times. But watching my clients drool over the awesome screen makes lugging it around well worth the trouble.
