Well I've had a few problems, but overall I'm still real happy with my machine. I find that laptops are generally more troublesome then desktops. My system shipped with a dud graphics card, which was swiftly replaced, and 2 weeks thereafter, my machine failed to boot at all for no apparent reason. Alienware took the system back and took out my hard-drives, optical drives, and graphics card and popped them in a new 7700. Problem solved.
No problems since then (touch wood).
But as I said, I'm still happy, and Alienware tech support are generally superb.
Think of it this way: The chances of you having a fault with your machine are about the same odds regardless of whether you buy AW, sager, eurocom, etc.
Except with AW you get fancy blue eyes at the back of your display.....................
