Good Deal? - Page 2

I think I may go with the SXGA+. I will probably call tomorrow to cancel and then I am going to place a new order with the WSXGA+ screen, 4X DVD burner, and an earlier ship date. I am not going to wait till December for my lappy. If your going to wait that long you might as well wait for the Dothan.

Sweet, dude. I see you opted for only one year warranty too. I hope Dell makes the laptop as sturdy and solid as Sager's.

Oh yeah? Is that how it works? My sales guy said "it'll be 2 or 3 times the cost later if you don't get it now."

I still said NO to an extra 300 something.

IDK what kind of sales pitch ur GuY (lollol) was throwing at U. I own a Dell Desktop 8250 and the 1 Yr warranty is about to expire and I recently received a calll from a Dell rep asking if I would like to extend my warranty for another 2 YrS. There was No increase in CosT.

Y??? Did U opt for the 3 Yr warranty??? Product replacement Plans/Warranties (insurance policies) earn the highest revenues for any company, that is y they really like to push them. If u did opt for the 3 Yr, I would definitley switch to 1 Yr, Dell tech support SuX. The only reason I would get the warranty is for defective hardware and u should know whats defective within a Yr. and if not then extend when it is about to expire. SaVe $$$

He probably made some nice commision off ur sale.

You would be correct, assuming I went for it. LOL. Hells no, mang. Maybe if the 3 year was $40 I'd go for it.

I received mine yesterday. AweSome.

Wait...yours is testing...Did you order the WUXGA screen?
I just spent 2-3 hours with Dell tech support beacuse of errors with my 4X DvDRW drive. Which has not been fixed and there only solution is to reformat my HD, after I have already reformatted. I let them know that if reformatting did not correct the error the system would be going back. He said, "That would be fair." I really like the system, yet I did not spend a large amount of $ on a defective system.

Oh crap. Sorry to hear. Guess you haven't had the chance to play a DVD to see if there were streaks, eh? What kind of errors were you getting with your drive?
My drive will not autoplay and now it will not play anything even if I double click on the item in the D drive in My Computer. I went thruogh the whole routine with the Techie. Before I was able to access the D drive from My COmputer and now I cannot. When I was able to, I did try a DVD and OoO I also have StReaKs!!!

I am reformatting the drive as we speak. SoOo I guess I will see if reformating fixes the error. If not......
