Z71V Email Button & Light

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone has found a way to do either of these things on Z71V:

1) make the email quick access button (first one to the right of the power button) open Gmail in a browser instead. That's my primary email, and I don't use any clients.

2) Make the "New Mail" indication lights (both of them) light up when the Gmail Notifier shows I have new messages?

I haven't been able to get it to work with anything but microsoft products myself, which is slightly useless since I use thunderbird.

To get the button to work, there is a button heck someone post in one of the thread. You have to edit the registry to tell it what email to come up when press. By default, it will do outlook i think.

By the way, it has to be an actual EMAIL CLIENT, not a web based email like gmail or yahoo.

What you could do is setup a POP3 check with gmail or yahoo through outlook or eudora if you want to check them.

As for the email light, no idea never tried.
