ATI radeon X600 VS. Nvidea Geforce 6800

Thread Starter
I am choosing between a dell 9300 and an HP zd8000. Which Graphics card is better the:
1)256mb ATI Radon X600
or
2)256mb Nvidia Geforce 6800

Is there going to be a MAJOR difference?

Thanks in advance!

I prefer nvidia. The 6800 will be better than the x600, which is more comparable to the 6600 nvidia. No there won't be a major difference. Depending on the cpu you get, there maybe a 20+ frame per second difference. Get a gig of ddr ram with what ever you get. Splurge and get the dell XPS if you can. If your gonna do alot of gaming, you might want to consider a PC desktop, way cheaper to build our own. Mine was $2500.0 with a 21.5"LCD.

Uhh... there is a *huge* difference. The X600 uses 4 pipelines, the 6800 has 12. The 6800 also has much quicker memory, and supports SM 3.0. If you want to game on any recent games, then go for the Dell.

Huh, Yah...

You dont have to get a dell though, there are other brands with a 6800... Like Sager, they build a really nice laptop... http://pctorque.com/ Most companys build a really nice system...
