9880 Will Not Post

Well the problems are starting to be revealed here. I just turned the 9880 on it will show the sager screen, start searching for ide devices then show "operating system not found. I have not farted around in bios or anything like this. Any help?

When I Try To Boot From Cd It Still Cant Find The Hdd.

Really sounds like a bad hard drive or the cable to the drive needs to be reset. I've had this on a few of my desktops after transporting them to LAN parties (used a drop of hot glue to solve that problem)

so actually, your laptop does post, it just can't find an operating system, or in other words, the hard drive is shot. go into the bios and check to see if it recognizes a hard drive. also, open her up and re-seat the hard drive connector to the hard drive.
