Good external DVD burner?

Thread Starter
hey everyone, I'm looking for a good external dvd burner that i can use on my i9300 and XPS2 laptop. I currently have the NEC 3520A for my Desktop and that think is freaking awesome. I guess my question is, is there something out there for the external burner that equivalence to the NEC 3520A? thanks in advance.

Get a USB 2.0 and/or IEEE 1394 5.25" external drive housing and put a NEC 3520 into it. NewEgg has dozens of models, some under $20.

NEC ND-3540A burns DL at 8x! But for about 100, why don't you get an internal unit for your laptop?

I bought the LG 5163D, it is 16x,double-layer, uses both firewire and usb2, cdfreaks site claim it is the currently the fastest burner in the world? I am very happy with it. and with coupons and rebates was very cheap.
