Alienware crap cutomer support strikes again.I have had my area 51m-7700 for less than 2 months now,with no trouble at all with the system or software on it.Saturday afternoon comes,in goes the Doom 3 disk,not a flicker of life from the optical drive,strange me thinks.Out comes the cd,check to see if any dirt is on the cd,no! Audio cd goes in,same result and dirt check.Dead as the Monty Python Parrot sketch.Now,I have read all the horror stories about having to take the system to bits and i can say that they are all true.Now i have nothing against our American friends over the pond,but how patronising can one person be! I ended up having to talk to the duty manager just to get someone who would talk to me in a normal manner.Take this cover off,take that cover off,now put them back on,restart the computer with the recovery disk in the drive.....THE DRIVE DOES NOT WORK!!....Did you not listen to what the problem was.Eventually,after an hour on the phone,i was told that i would have to wait untill today,Monday,untill someone would ring me to arrange the return of my system so they can fix it.Should not have happened in the first place,i hear you say.They also seemed to be oblivious of the fact how much money we save and payout for a supposed top of the range,best money can buy Desktop/Laptop.Performance wise,i have no complaint but the support people need to seriously undertake some training in dealing with customers who ring in with problems.You read all the nightmare reviews in the various forums,but never expect this to happen to you and your kit.new buyers read on and beware.Still awaiting phone call and will update once call is recieved.
