s360 questions

I know the s360 is being phased out soon but does any one have an exact date? I can't afford it till the end of the summer but it is the notebook of my dreams. No other notebook has a 12/13 inch display and decent dedicated grphics. Please tell me I have time.

In addition does anyone know if this uses the Dothan core or the older sonoma?

If I am not mistaken, they already stopped making the S360s and stores like bEst Buy and CompUSA already stopped carrying the S360. Your best bet for finding one at the end of the summer is the used section, ebay, or from an online retailer that still has stock.

I live in southern california and everywhere i went the s360 was soldout and all they has was s480/380 except for Fry's which was selling open box s360 i looked through them(2 of them) and they had dead pixels. I got mine off Ebay for 1400 with a perfect screen and about 10 months of warranty left sealed box. just be carful if you do you to Ebay

At this point its becoming harder and harder to find a new S360. Your best bet is either what lostbob said, Ebay. Or finding an online retailer that sells it. There are online retailers that still carry them but its shrinking as time goes by. Just check like cnet, shopping.com or other price finding web sites, they'll list sites that carry them.

That bites. When you bring it up on sony's website it still gives you the option to add it to your cart, I figured that they still had some left. Oh well.

Any ways does any one have an answer to my other question. What core is this centrino dothan or something else?

The s360 uses the 855pm chipset/2200bg wifi card(centrino)with the intel 1.7 dothan 2MB cash /FSB@400/ 80GB 4200RPM/ 512MBx1 ram (microdimm) 2 slots for ram

thanks lostbob. I really just wanted to know the dothan part but Im sure the extra information might help some one.


So does sony plan on making anything that resembles this laptop any time soon. As near as I can tell all their other laptops cast more have worse graphic and worse battery life. Why would a company cancel a product that beats everything they replace it with with a stick?
