Screen remains black

My XPs started doing this recently. When I put my XPS2 into Standby or Hybernate mode and restart the notebook, the screen remains black. The Notebook itself appears to power up but the screen does not.

the only way to restore the notebook is by powering down and restarting.

Any ideas?

Disable the ATI Powerplay feature. I had this problem and it doing this worked.

Thanks rrrrrRamos, I'll give it a try, though I am suprised there is an ATI Poweplay feature given the XPS G2 nvidia graphics. ;-)

Sorry, I was thinking about my 6000 which had the same problem. I guess if there is an equivilant on there with nvidia then try that.

Hand this happen on my different systems as well. The usuall solutions:

- update video driver
- update bios
- switch to omega drivers

BTW. What is this powerplay fearture you are talking about and where did you access it?

My notebook is an XPS G2 BTW.

Powerplay is for ATi cards. Powerminizer (I think) is for nVidia cards
