Dont get it

When i plug in my usb mouse, its not detected...and i downloaded and installed those drivers Madcat. What gives? This is sort of irritating. The 5660 had drivers for this and they ran without a hitch....so whats going on or what am i doing wrong. Well, let me clarify, when i plug it in when the computers already on, theres no detection at all. So i have to reboot for it to be detected. I hate doing this....

I dont know actually.I would go into device manager, and make sure your USB drivers are installed properly (since 2k needs USB2.0 drivers, especially with the ICH4 southbridge). Past that, i would go back to the working drivers. Its one of those, dont fix whats not broken things....

heh

Its not fixed...see, i just got my 5680, used to be a 5660, this is an upgrade (and im still excited by it i might add), but i didnt have these problems. Is it the new mobos drivers? I havent downloaded the service pack yet so..and i run 2k...i dont really like xp, it looks like a big cartoon....

Icefluxx I agree about the big cartoon look in XP but if you change your setup to classic you can make it look just like W2k. That way you get all the benefits of XP (I can't believe I just said that ) without the cartoon look.

Have you checked that your USB ports are active in the device manager? When you open the usb devices there is a ID number next to each one. You may have to load new Chip drivers as there was some software issues with older drivers and USB device ID's.

Awww hell.. THATs your problem. Both 2k and Xp need the latest SPs inorder to run USB2 stuff right.... SPs are your NUMBER 1 priority for any NT system....

Do you guys know if the audio codecs can be used on any sager (I've got a 4060), or is it motherboard specific?

Thanks!

If the 4060 uses a realtek chipset, then yes, you can use the posted drivers.
