I need screen real state, no GPU

Hello laptop-lovers,

I am searching a new laptop. Let me explain my needs:

I use my laptop to trade stocks. For me, screen real state and crispness is a number one priority because the more charts I could fit in, the better. That is why I want a 17" 1900 x 1200 screen. I also need a quiet and battery-lasting system (thus Centrino is my choice) and lots of RAM.

However, I am not a gamer. I need no GForce 6800 Ultra.

Is there any Centrino-based laptop with 1900x1200 screen but with a main stream GPU to reduce down the price compared to a, say, Dell 9300 and that preferably sells in Europe?

PS: Anyone know anything about the rumours of 19" screen-loaded laptops coming up soon?

Cheers!

You could get a 9300 with a Radeon x300 instead of the 6800.

the 19" laptops will be coming from Dell... you might want to wait for that if screen size is all you care about.

My first thought was the Sony A-Series. They can get quite pricey though. You can play around with configurations at Sony's website.

any turions with 17 inches?

Not yet. Keep in mind that the batt life is going to be hitt prety hard because of the large screen.

I am not as concerned about battery life as I am about fan noise. Centrino laptops are cooler and thus the fan noise is quieter.

Anyone have any idea on ETA on those 19" Dell beauties? Screen real state is crucial for me!

Cheers!
