Available Disk Space Question

Thread Starter
I downloaded a few large video files onto my 9300 and then deleted them but when I checked disk space used, it doesn't show that I recovered any free space. I defragmented, scan disk, etc. and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas on why this may have happened? I have pleny of space left but I'm just frustrated not knowing why this happened.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not to suggest something stupid, but did you check the recycle bin? Also, Go to start > All Prog > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup and try that.

yeah, you have to get rid of it from the recycle bin to actually get the files off ur system ...

Thanks for the quick replies but I've done disk cleanup, also used System Mechanic to delete any junk files and the recycle bin is empty as well. That's why I'm so confused.......................

Do you have a Norton protected recycle bin ?

No Norton and i also cleaned the registry with System Mechanic as well. Is it possible a large file was never deleted completely and that file search wouldn't be able to see it?

You may be able to see it (and even restore it) with this:

But then what? Maybe restore it and delete it again?? Hmmmm.....
