Pci video cards?

I have a older pc that I would like to put a new video card into but the mobo does not a have a agp slot. I was looking for pci cards and i have found a radeon 9000 (nonpro), radeon 9100, radeon 9200, geforce4 mx420, and the geforce4 mx440. Right now i leaning to the radeon 9100 because it yields the best directx 8 performance. (note: my pc's specs are athlon xp 2400+ 2.0ghz and 512mb of ram)

Hey thanks for the info iome but the geforce fx 5200 sucks in directx 9 and 8... but it is a directx 9 pci card and the only one that i know of.

Yeah, stay away from the 5200fx, it got a lower 3dmark score than an old voodoo3 card I had (2001). The Radeon 9100 would be a good choice.

Wha! Voodoo3 bench over 8200 on 3dmark01!

Wow! That must have taken some serious overclocking! Over 8200 3dmarks!

yea i agree the 5200 cant play dx9 well but how many dx9 games are you exspecting to play.Well in the first link it had the ati 9200 and 9100 also and i like them too.they are all decent cards for pci you really cant do much beter than the 9200 i guess.

geforce fx 5600 pci

I found a geforce 5600 pci in a card round-up at techtv but im thinking of just buying a emachine from my local walmart and putting a radeon 9600 pro in it, although I found a Radeon 9800 (nonpro) from sapphire for only $182.65!

You wouldn't happen to have a link for that would you?

For Real a PCI Geforce fx 5600!... well kinda

well if you need a link thats what ill give you (for some reason i thought it was techtv, i found it at 2 AM)! http://www.sudhian.com/showdocs.cfm?aid=445&pid=1590 the only catch is it has a 5200 core however it did score over 2000 (thats outstanding for a pci card) on 3dmark03 which is much higher than the other cards in the round up. For anyone without a agp slot that would be your best bet for running half life 2 or doom 3.
