Like the title says. I have some serious issues with the batt. .. I think. ha.

Well.. The thing is I just formated my sager 9860. Installed all the drivers. The thing is that when I go to shut down, my laptop doesent really shut down. It just sits there and gives me the message " Its ok to shut down your computer now" I never had that before.

Also, when I unplug the AC power source. my laptop seems like there is NO battery what so ever... Like..My screen gets dim and stuff...I also downloaded a little untility to moniter my battery, and when I unplug my laptop... It still says its running on AC!!!!

I have no idea whats going on. There are some major problems running about and I have to see whats going on here..

Anyone have ANY idea on whats going on for both of my problems?

Thanks.

the 9860 is not designed to perform under battery power. the battery is simply a UPC backup power in case you lost outlet power and is ment to save your work. do not run any intensive programs in the background while on battery or you will get terrible performance issues. the mpst you can do is probably surf the internet with little troubles.

the 9860 dramatically alters the FSB on the fly when you plug and unplug the ac power cord from the laptop, this can interfere with software monitoring programs and may give you odd readings. the way it re-routes power is mandetory in order to save the battery and is the only way you are allowed to run for an hour or so under battery power. when the battery reaches 63% the system reduces the fsb even further, thus everything runs extremely slow.

you can turn up the brightness under battery power by holding the fn key and pressing the F9 key.

i haven't seen the , "Its ok to shut down your computer now" message since windows 98. are you sure you installed windows xp?
