Brand new Intel Wireless 9.0.2.0 drivers - Page 2

Try the new drivers Dell released on its site.

I don't know if they're any different or not, but maybe downloading the Intel Wireless 9.0.2.0 drivers from the manufacturer will help.

I had ths issue, and resolved it by going to devise manager finding the card under networking, properties, advanced, power (i think its the 3/4 down, not on my laptop at mo) unticked the "use default" and moved the power bar to maximum.

The dell drivers are a lot older than the ones on intels site (when i checked yesterday)

One question though.....wil setting power bar to max give me less battery time and if so about how much less??? THNX

Well i presume you will have a slight decrease...... but sure it will be hardly noticeable... at most a few mins.... i manage to get over 4 hours while on the net... with max power.... an no more annoying drop outs... however i still havent managed to keep the green wifi light on!

Yep. Both the Intel and the Dell sites have the 9.0.2.10 driver for download. No reason not to download from Dell in this case. The orginal driver for my machine provided by Dell was 9.0.0.61 and had connection problems. I replaced this with 9.0.1.9 from Intel and used it for a month with no problems. I have replaced that with the new 9.0.2.10 from Dell; no problems.

What type of connection problems? Did it not connect at all or was it dropping connections? I have an issue in my master bedroom when the TV is turned on. I have a wireless headphone setup and I think it's on the 900MHz frequency and screwing with my connection.

Will the new drivers help with this problem?

If I'm not having any problems (i.e. my connection establishes upon startup and I am at 54 Mbps and I have not had it drop before - at least while I have been online or anything) is there a reason to download the new driver?
Switch to a different channel? I have mine on channel 6, but I'm not sure whether or not this determines the frequency... mine operates at around 2.4ghz, so I don't have any interference from my phone. If you can, you could always check the router itself and see if you can change the frequency...

Once I installed them the repair option no longer works. Same thing on 2 systems. Put back the orginal version and it works again. This is a intel bug cuz I used the generic version on my I8200 and it did the same.

I just install this new Intel toy. OK, instead of Microsoft doing the connection, now its Intel doing it.

Only thing I miss is that I dont see the little tiny monitor blinking when it transfer data like in the MS.

So whats your take on this?

I choose to have Windows control my wireless instead of the Intel Proset sfotware. I get a better (faster, and fewer drops) connection when Windows controls it.

How is everyone else handling this?

I had intermittent drop-outs with the 9.0.0.61 driver, which both the 9.0.1.9 and the 9.0.2.10 drivers fixed. Some indications of the fixes can be read here (from the Intel site) : ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-suppo...rt%20Notes.htm.

I had went back to Window to take of my wireless. I miss my little tiny monitor that flashes when it transmitt.

I had to do a cold reboot on my router!

I am using a Belkin g router and hardly ever had a drop. I point the antenna at 45 deg to one another and had the maximum Tylenol strength. Any science to this? Thanks.

That tiny monitor that blinks can be visable with or without the intel util.... its under properties of network connection... tick the "Show icon in notificaton area"

My card still seems to dropout with the latest drivers... but not so often.... a lot less after i set its power usage to maximum.... And when it does drop out i loose the green light next to my bluetooth.

im glad I came across this thread

I was not having no probs with my intel pro abg but i upgraded anyways.

But i did visit the dell driver update page and did update a few other important things. There was a newer fax modem driver, a newer sound card driver, a newer display driver and a FIRMWARE upgrade for my 8x DVD burner (I think I had 203C the new one was 204D)

Highly recomended that you go to the driver download page and upgrade all your stuff
