laptopvideo2go.com nvidia drivers

Thread Starter
Well I've tried the latest released and the official whql ones with my qosmio f10 & geforce go 5700..
My laptop gets all laggy.. Just things like firefox take 3-4 seconds longer to load and the mouse jumps almost when stuff is loading.
Any ideas? I had to roll back to the original ones =[

I'v had similiar issues with the last two releases of nvidia drivers: 77.62 and 77.73 today I had reload an image of my laptop I was having so much trouble. My mouse will jerk across the desktop sometimes and when I play WoW I will get hard lag at times...Lately I'll even run into BSOD's and unexpected reboots. Today this week I have run into a few times where I can only boot to safe mode as normal I will get past the xp logo loading screen and then black...nothing.

Anyone suggest a stable yet performance squeezing driver for this card? Some of my issues may be due to frequent changes in drivers lately...I am using driver cleaner inbetween changes.

WoW is pretty much the only game I play on this laptop and I'm not concerned about bench marks so much as actual quality while in use.

Thanks!

I have seen a few times the 71.89 driver recommended for the FX go 5700 so I am going to try that...would still like to hear comments on other drivers being used expecially on the 64mb version.

well since i'm taking notes here...any driver I use now is having a choppy video affect. I thought it was just WoW, at the login screen the graphics jerk an jolt and sometimes don't even move...however I noticed if I keep moving my mouse constantly the video is fluid and perfect. Same thing when testing a dvd movie unless i'm moving the mouse constantly it not even watchable. Starting to get aggrivated this wasn't happening like I said untill these latest two releases of vid card drivers. I even put a new clean image of XP on this machine which I know for a fact had no issues but as soon as I install a newer driver....

I dont use that crap off laptopvideo2go.com anymore for any laptop i do work on... I either use stock drivers or omega drivers...

i may have to go back that...I got it working normally once tonight with the stock drivers. It was still doing it but i closed the LT and it went into hibernate and when it came back out it was fine...maybe i'll go back to omega those worked fine before. I just don't understand why these other drivers are causing a problem now whereas before they did not. Maybe its just my hopeing of getting this work issued laptop to be a gaming machine as well...which it is not.

well I think its official that my vid card is toasted or at least perminently damaged. Even going back to the stock driver DVD movies will not play fluidly nor will anything that is even slightly 3D or graphic intesive. The WoW login screen with the swirling flames doesn't even move fluidly or at all sometimes. The one thing I can do to keep fluid moving graphics is keep the mouse moving or continually hitting keyboard keys. Like if I have a dvd in...or even the login to WoW it will sit and chop, jerk, and chug if i'm not doing anything else but if start moving the mouse constantly it will be fluid and normal. Aside from fresh image put on this laptop with a clean XP isntall on friday, today I had to run XP repair as the ntldr was mysteriously missing. I'm back up and running again obviously but no change in the video situation. I even called HP support which is usually only something I do when I'm prepared to have something replaced as their help is usually quite low level. As was to be expected I got no help other than to send it in or have an authorized HP agent in my area look at it.

So I ask you folks now...ever run into something like this? This would be the second time I have had to send in this hp nx9500...most likely another system board replacement. I would like to state that while I was using "modified" drivers I was not running regulary with OC'd settings...sure I tried it but I didn't keep it that way as to not cause anymore heat than already produced. Regular temps when playing wow have usually been at max 57 usually I was seeing it around 55 and 40 when idle. HD temp when playing got up to 40 usually no higher and ran about 35 or less when idle.

this morning when I try and start the machine it gets to the XP loading screen then goes blank...no video at all...looks like i'm off to one of the authorized agents this morning

My laptop is going back out to HP once again today, but I am wondering if there is some sort of safe mode or limp mode the nvidia cards would go into if something such as a driver where not right?

got my laptop back friday...replaced the system board...again. Guess I won't be playing around with video drivers to much anymore.
