Acer Aspire 5020 = Turion 64 + X700 sub $1000.

This combo is already a reallity and selling everywhere in Europe. Last I heard Acer would not offer the Aspire 5020 line in the US for unknown reasons. But somehow I keep hoping for it to come here... So any updates on Aspire 5020 release in the US, or should I just forget about it? Anyway, the US market seams really screwey with new releases for some darn reason...

You sure that isn't sub 1000 euro? Cause that would make more sense.

Looks like the 5020 series is ~750-900 Euros. Pretty nice. Are they in the US?

The prices for Aspire 502X series are between 1100 and 1240 Euro in Europe.

Well, I've never been to Europe, so maybe you're more on top of things over there than myself. But a quick Google leads me to this:

Laptops Direct UK: Acer Aspire 5020 Series

760 Euro to 900 Euro inc. VAT

The UK is considered part of Europe, right?

I live 20 mins from Europe's capital (Brussels) so let me clarify:

the UK is part of Europe, but they do not use the Euro (currency) ... the 760 incl VAT you see is £ (GBP aka pounds!!) which is quite a different currency ... see x-rates.com for exchange rates. In Euro, the Acer 502x does cost at least € 1050, which is about $ 1250-1300.

UK has Pound Sterling (£), not Euro (€). £1 = about 1.5 €.

I checked that 5021WLMi is some 1079 euros in Finland.
