Ive got three toshiba satellite pro 6000. All three have the exact same prob. Put power in, supply light goes green, try to turn on supply light blinks amber.

I got one to post after some tinkering, a quick screen flashed CMOS bat error, but didn't come back on the next 2 post.

Here's my hypothisis, due to corporate sell, all three were stored in a very cold or very warm place, all three CMOS bats failed, so units wont kick bios into gear. One new CMOS on the way.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for any input in advance.

I know we all stay pretty busy, but I could really use some input on this?

Thanks

Could just have been a "bad run" of batteries bought by Toshiba or maybe the batteries are actaully older than you think .........

The unit should only fall back on the CMOS battery if it is unlugged, and the main battery is removed. It is possible that the laptop needs more current than the power brick can supply for a short period of time on startup, and the main battery is completely shot. If you are particularly capable, dig up a high current variable power supply, and power the laptop with it through the battery connections.

Try it anyways, and if you can't fix it, would you ship me one of them? Please

Thanks fellas. I'll try the larger power.

I bought the units for repair and resale, I already have buyers so I need to repair.

All three look in perfect condition, however if it's bad motherboards, I may take a slight loss.

Thanks again
Bob
