Thanks all for the good luck, and good luck Mick and PD on their tests as well.

PD- I hated grammar with a passion junior year, it was this thick blue book and I always hated taking it to class. Thank god I passed though- and good lucks to u as well PD

Mick- I cant even pronounce what math youre taking- however good luck

Awesome day today. My biology teacher saw a kid sleeping and poked him rather hard and demand the answer to a question. They got into an argument and she told him to go sleep somewhere else and that he was a punk kid. He told her to go suck his d*ck and he just completely manhandled her. I waited for him after class and shook his hand.

One teacher from my school gives the most insane death glares ever, one of the best teachers I've come across but god she beats kids up all the time if you do anything wrong she just smacks you upside the head

Yeah, the ATI cards are just as predicted. Slower than the 8800GT, but also a bit cheaper. The fact that the HD3870 uses a two-slot cooling design probably means a lot of people will get an 8800GT instead (if they can find one). The cards do get just as hot as well, although they seem to be quieter under load. It was good of ATI to come out with a mainstream card or two, and the features are good, but if they want to regain some respect, they need to come out with a beast of a card to put nVidia back in it's place (like the good 'ol Radeon 9700 did).

[edit: after reading the article, looks like ATI is planning an HD3870X2; a dual GPU card along the lines of a 7950GX2. Wonder if nVidia will have an answer to that...]

I agree and they need to regain lost ground after the Mobility 9xxx series as well (Maybe making a Mobility 3870 or 3850 with similar power consumption boons). Perhaps the AMD merger and all the bureaucratic shufflings that goes with a merger caused the recent slowdown.

In my opinion within a few months Nvidia will release the 9 series cards and those will be absolute BEASTS in comparison to any double card solution, I mean the computational power is supposed to be 3 times that of the GTX/Ultra in the upcoming series in the similar price range. I'm personally looking forward the 9800GTS which should prove to be far stronger than even the 8800Ultra

they better be the 8800 cards have been out for over a year now. It's definitely time for a serious refresh. I'm happy though, my card handled Crysis just fine on Ultra settings, So I expect my system will be good for another year before I update the CPU/GPU.

Well I finished my external air mod. Air is being filtered through the window screen & a high tech application of pantyhose.

Temps under a test at 3.6GHz (since most ppl cannot achive 3.9) 1.4875v resulted in the following temps.

(outside temp 36F/2.2C)

Idle- 22.5C/21.0C (core 1/2)
Orthos-41.7C/40.9C
TAT -43.1C/43.9C

Ghetto mods are amazing.

My girlfriend looks at me weird when I open the sliding doors alittle bit when it's 25 degrees outside.

My computer is right next to the doors. I love the winter time.
