Reputation Points Thread - Page 5245

I like this little corner of ours. Because it's on NBF, there's no shortage of reading material, and we can all help out others at times when we see a thread we can relate to. That's why I prefer this thread to say, OT threads, because in OT, you are fairly secluded from the rest of NBF; the other tech discussions.

I wouldn't leave if my rep got reset, but it might be different if the thread itself were killed.

That is some good points KP.. I agree with most of what you said..

I likewise have been here for quite a while and have made some great friendships. If the changes improve the site, then I am all for it. As long as it equally controls some of the a*sholes I've encountered over the years..

We are doing well thank you. I am just trying to get back in the swing of work... I had two weeks off for Christmas, and I just can't seem to get my groove back

Talk of the deletion of out of OT, OT thread has me concerned. I will consider not staying here at NBF if they decide to do this, I personally just do not like the OT. Too much ruckus, too many people, too many snappy attitudes for me.

Any way that keeps the individual reputation threads alive really would make me happy if they stay in the preferred section...aka: yep, an OT sticky on the top of the Dell page would make me happy

It's the advice that brought me here, it's the friends that keep me here

Also, no worries, I'm not going anywhere fast, just trying to say that I think many people won't be happy to give up their little forum groups

I dont think rep should be a game. For example, in real life, you have a reputation, either you be a nerd, cool dude, lazy, ambitious, jerko*f,etc etc i dont feel you should be able to gamble with your reputation. They should leave out all 'rep games'

But still, its your name that will carry on with you. When I look at someone's name, I know from previous posts about their knowledge of computers and their attitude/disposition.

I think even if they do a new rep system, it will just be purely E-Peen bragging rights. Kind of like 3D Mark

And can someone explain the Credits system. I looked at Duke's post but I got lost and cried because I felt like I was at the bank. And we all know how intimidating the bank is
post #104897 of 149429
It is an attmept to get users more involved with the site. You get x-number of credits depending on the type of post you make, and where it's made.

The amount of credits awarded increases incrementally when you make a post, create a thread, create a news thread (strict rules there, read news posting guidelines), post a review (from a review site), and the ultimate award is posting a thorough review of a system or component you accomplished.

What do you get for the credits? Duke will let all know soon.

Hope this helps.

What are the benefits? I see under the credits there is a whole elaborate system of transferring $

Whats the deal w/ that?

Well, one can only assume, but i would imagine there will be something you can trade the credits for.

Again, based on assumption here, lets say you have a buddy that wants to trade for something and is 200 credits shy. You gonna help him/her out?
