Heh, I still do SAT tutoring from sometime. I charge $40 an hour in person but I guarantee a 2000 or your money back (was 1400 for the old SAT). And I haven't had to give it back before.

Well, primary question. Do you recommend taking practice SAT's more or reading through the overall strategy books more? I'm trying to do both but I just wonder which you'd recommend if I was in a time cramp

In a time cramp, I find taking more practice SAT's works the best (but also keep up with vocab). But to make it work, you have to go over what went wrong, find out why you got it wrong, see if there's a pattern, and then fix it. For strategy books, really just skim through em once, get the gist, and that's it.
