Do people ever get together who are opposite (i.e. one smokes, the other doesn't)? If so, who wins out? Does the non-smoker start to smoke? Does the smoker quit? It's weird when I think about it. I can tolerate it when my friends in Berlin smoke, but I think it would bother me too much if we were a couple or something. I guess non-smokers are more adamant about not smoking, and therefore the smokers would probably try to quit if they wanted to be in the relationship...
Mind you, my father has smoked his entire life, but his wife of two years now doesn't smoke. Of course, he's also 6'5" and german, so he probably wins all the arguments LOL
Don't mind me... just thinking aloud on a monday evening LOL

Interesting topic or topics, haha. I actually did smoke when I was a freshman in HS, one of the bad things I got in football besides the knee issues and tattoo that I removed later. My gf at the time smoked and as did part of the defense so I ended up joining. Pretty much quit after I quit the team and broke up with her (who btw turned into a real b**** according to my friends at UCR).
And speaking of opposites getting together, my gf and I are pretty much on polar opposites in many ways. And I still don't know how we even got together to begin with or what she sees in me. She's North Campus (like where all the laid back humanities majors are such as psychology and philosophy in her case) and I'm South Campus (the uber-intensive/competitive science majors like Biochem in my case). She's from a pretty rich white family in norcal and I'm upperish-middle-class asian family in socal. She likes to dance and I don't really like to (mostly just stepping on her feet or bumping into people). She's more tae-bo/yoga and I'm more sports-ish (except soccer, which I hate and she loves). She's active and energetic while I'm the opposite. The movies we watch are almost always different in taste as are most of our interests and personality (I'm a geek in a semi-athlete's body and she's just like the stereotypical popular but nice girl

). Plus she's hot and I'm not

. Usually, it's half and half for us in terms of winning out so we just pick and choose our battles.
lol, sorry I wrote a lot, this is more fun than mixing solutions.
