qhn, do you have experience with TV on the computer? I am getting black and white only
with my tuners software.

I would, if I could figure out why I am not getting color. I get color with media-center, but it can not fine my IR thing.

Share with me the specs of the devices (Tuner, TV ...) and the setup configuration that you are using. Let me take a shot at it.

Hi all! Polish Ham is sold at a premium here in the States Germany not far so must be similar. The domestic ham here in the stores does not look anywhere near as good to me, yes more fat washed out color.

I have the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 model 1199. I am running the latest software WinTV7.
It will work with Media Center, but I would have to buy a different remote. I am running it hooked up via s-video for picture. Composite for sound.

The Germans do pride themselves with their (pigs) ham (sausage) It is the only place in the world that I see people eating the meat (mett) raw

So let me recapping this:

. WMC works with card, you have coloured display.

. Win-TV7 (Hauptpage) app works, but only showing black and white.

Correct so far?

ok. I dig it some more and it seems that you are running into a brick wall, simply saying it will not work with the S-Video connection. You would need a converter in between

This observation is from NewEggs (I read one on the German Hauptpage also):
"Cons: when connecting an external source to the S-Video, the video is black and white.
Cause
Simple to S-VIDEO adapters (unpowered) do not convert the signal to S-Video at all as they just rewire the pins
Resolution
If you want to get higher quality than Composite, then it will be necessary to use mains powered RGB to S-Video converter. If it doesn't require power then it isn't a converter - it is just a simple adapter and will not do the job."

or another alternative here?

"I did not experience this S-Video issue with my Aver Media AVerTVHD MCE A180 on my other system. It was simply just plug_and_play. I did not need a converter to achieve color video."
