2nd Dave on this ... No need to pay extra $. You still can upgrade the components with no issue!

Exactly Garb, 7 years-itch ... We need to rub it in hard to cure it

Good afternoon, DRT. I got our wedding rings. Mine had to be re-sized.
I also picked up our replacement bathroom window.

c) pay $70 more for the full version, allowing me to upgrade my components in the future
I got the upgrade. It works fine for me. I don't plan to upgrade for quite a while.

I don't think that is true. There are plenty of hockey fans here.

I got the upgrade and it let me install without installing vista first.

How so? Do you just have to enter the key from the previous OS? Was that a clean install, or an actual upgrade overtop the current system.

And Dave, you lost me with "boot loader". Are we talking a legal upgrade version?

Really, what I want is to get the upgrade (seeing as I already invested enough as it is with Vista), install it on a clean HDD, without having to install Vista first, and be able to upgrade any of my components in the future, without having the OS tied to the motherboard or something. I remember having an OEM XP Media Centre and having to call Microsoft when I wanted to change something (I think it was the video card).

Microsoft really makes this all more complicated than it should be. lol

"rumor" (really ) is that one can perform a clean install with W7 upgrade disk!

There is a slim chance that you might still do this ...

It is now much better with Vista and W7.

Keep Mario ... Send over the food and wine

The food is merely some beef barley and vegetable soup, and the wine is the same Ukrainian dessert wine I've been drinking, and I think you're closer to the source lol

What I've read is that what you pay for is a license, and so if you upgrade using an OEM key, then the OEM license applies to the upgrade, meaning the same restrictions.

I think I still need to do some more reading on the subject...

Win 7 loader is a utility that lets you load and run Win 7 on any computer without any MS headaces lol
