There were none last night, though.
It was so hot here last night. We went out for about 30 seconds. We could see the fireworks through the trees.
Too bad there were none there.

Fun. The power is out on a day when it hits 34c (42c with humidex). The queen of England is visiting and is now restricted to candlelight state dinner.

Needless to say, I won't be posting again until power comes back on. Need to save my phone battery, as much as possible.

Well, that didn't last as long as I thought. I guess the Queen will get a hot meal now lol

An weirdly enough, my PC still managed to resume from sleep, even with a complete loss of power. It appears to be rebuilding what was in memory, from the hard drive.

I did manage to eat my ice cream before it went "bad" lol

Haha... of course we'd give the Queen a blackberry:

You people need to store "ice" around the generator for days like this

Wouldn't ice around a generator just melt? I fail to see your logic

And it would take an awful lot of ice to cool down a quarter million people (the number of those affected). Luckily it wasn't off too long

The heat is probably the main reason.
