Well, that finally made a difference. Now it stays below 80C under load... much better than the 88C+ before. Suffice it to say, the single slot cooling solution on the 8800GT is not ideal.

You should get one of those portable Air Conditioners Garb.

just have to watch the water levels on the tank and empty it before it gets too full lol

I have seen many portable coolers with batteries and ice packs Must decide which one to get since we still have a way to go before summer ends. External A/C is out of the question due to noise, not allowed in the apartment complex where we live.

I was thinking about it, but they aren't very efficient. There is a good 12,000 BTU model on sale for $300, though. Can't afford it right at the moment, though

That's pretty decent for price. Should you decide to get one I would suggest to check it out and make sure that energy usage is at minimum though. Using one of these dings can make a hole in your pocket as far as electricity cost concerns.

That's the problem with all air conditioners, and the reason I have never gotten one. They use WAY too much power. Even a small one will use minimum 750W, and the larger ones twice as much. That's equivalent to running a microwave for hours non-stop. And now that electricity is not included in rent, I have to watch what I use (hence the new TV that uses half what my old one does).

And hooray... Toronto has a handball in the box during stoppage time to lose the game 2-1.
